For the second summer in a row Colleen Jones is heading out on roads less travelled — on her bike.
This year, Colleen has set her sights on Cape Breton.
“People are doing incredible things in communities all over the province and those are the stories I hope to find,” she says.
Beginning Sunday, August 18, Colleen will pedal around parts of the Island to discover and tell your stories. Her journey will begin in Englishtown and if all goes as planned — you never know with Colleen — she will end up near Margaree.
Lovingly referred by some as “the Tour de Nova Scotia – Part 2,” Colleen says her trek is about bringing CBC to you.
“I enjoy going off the beaten track and creating pop-up bureaus in these places,” she says.
Videographer Brian MacKay will be making the trip to the Island with Colleen in order to capture the stories for you.
Keep an eye open and you just might see them in your community.
Find out which places she visits and the people she meets weekdays by tuning into CBC Radio’s afternoon show, Mainstreet, and on CBC Nova Scotia News at 6 p.m. on CBC TV or on demand at cbc.ca/ns.
